Questions before you go

Is Plaka crowded?

By day, yes. This is Athens, the City of Athens tourism site, tells visitors to be prepared for the crowds. If you sleep lightly, ask the hotel for a room away from the street.

How do I get from the airport to a Plaka hotel?

Metro Line 3 reaches Syntagma in about 40 minutes and Monastiraki in about 42, with a €9 airport ticket; airport trains run every 36 minutes. The X95 bus to Syntagma Square costs €5.50 and runs around the clock. A licensed taxi charges a flat €50 from 05:00 to midnight and €65 from midnight to 05:00 to the city-centre inner ring.

Can I park at the hotel?

Ask when you book. The Central Hotel has private underground parking on request, with a 1.80 m height limit; the Adrian offers off-site parking 100 m away by reservation. The Electra Palace's site does not mention parking; otherwise use one of the car parks on the parking page.

Which Electra Palace rooms look at the Acropolis?

Superior rooms, Junior Suites and Suites, according to the hotel; Classic rooms look over the surrounding area. The roof garden restaurant and the seasonal outdoor pool also face the Acropolis.
