Syntagma area guide

Where to stay in Syntagma

Stay in Syntagma for a short trip or a late arrival: the airport metro, the tram to the coast and the all-night X95 bus all stop at the square. The three hotels below are on the square or one street from it and run from upper-mid range to luxury. Ask for a room away from Amalias Avenue if you sleep lightly.

Questions before you go

Is Syntagma a quiet place to sleep?

No. The square is the city's traffic and political centre, busy from the morning commute into the evening, and demonstrations gather in front of Parliament. Ask for a room facing away from Amalias Avenue and the square.

How do I get from the airport to a Syntagma hotel?

Metro Line 3 reaches Syntagma in about 40 minutes with a €9 airport ticket; the X95 bus runs all night for €5.50 and takes about an hour; a licensed taxi charges a flat €50 by day or €65 between midnight and 05:00 to the inner ring.

Where do I park near a Syntagma hotel?

In a garage: MetroPark on Mitropoleos and Automedon Park on Perikleous are each about 300 m from the square. The surrounding streets are pedestrian or controlled-parking zones with a three-hour limit.
