Psyrri area guide

Where to stay in Psyrri

Stay in Psyrri at City Circus hostel on Sarri Street, about 200 m from Iroon Square, or at Arion Athens Hotel on Agiou Dimitriou. O&B Athens Boutique Hotel on Leokoriou is 50 m from Thissio station, and Monastiraki station (Lines 1 and 3) is about 300 m from the square. Bars and cafés line the streets around Iroon Square, so ask for a room away from the street if you sleep lightly.

Questions before you go

Is Psyrri noisy at night?

It can be. The old coffee houses around Iroon Square have given way to bars and cafés, and City Circus notes that its budget double on a sub-level may be noisier. Ask for a room at the back or on an upper floor.

How far is the metro?

Monastiraki, on Lines 1 and 3, is about 300 m from Iroon Square, and City Circus gives about 300 m from its door to the metro. O&B is 50 m from Thissio on Line 1.

How do I get from the airport to a Psyrri hotel?

Metro Line 3 runs to Monastiraki in about 42 minutes with a €9 airport ticket. Check STASY's current Line 3 timetable before an evening airport trip. Its dated works notice covered 11–15 and 18–22 October 2026, when late direct trains were curtailed and the temporary X20 linked Ambelokipi with Halandri. Do not plan around X20 or the 21:06/21:10 last-through times without a current operator notice. The X95 from Syntagma is an all-night alternative.

Can I park at the hotel?

O&B says it has no private parking. The nearest municipal garage, at the Central Market on Sokratous, charges €3 for up to two hours and €11 for up to ten.
