Choose one coastal day: Astir Beach for a booked beach visit, Lake Vouliagmeni for a lake visit, or Varkiza for a different beach setting. These are separate destinations. Compare a Riviera hotel with a central Athens stay only after deciding how many days you will actually spend on the coast.
Getting there and back
Set the exact entrance as the destination and plan the return before paying for admission. A tram or metro journey may still leave a bus or car leg to the beach. For a late meal at Moorings or Island, confirm a return option for that time instead of reusing the daytime route.
Before you book
Check the date-specific beach or lake admission, lounger rules, seasonal operation and cancellation terms. A hotel booking, beach entry and restaurant reservation are separate purchases unless the provider explicitly includes them. The Summer 2026 guide is a seasonal planning reference, not a guarantee of today’s availability.
If plans change
If wind, heat or a closure makes swimming unsuitable, keep a confirmed coastal meal or switch to a central museum day before starting the transfer. Do not assume another beach will have spare loungers or the same conditions.

Astir Beach
