Acropolis and archaeological-site tickets

The Acropolis now uses strict timed-entry tickets with a daily visitor cap, so book online in advance on the official site — in peak summer slots sell out days ahead. A full adult ticket is about €30 (mid-2026); other central sites have their own separate tickets. Go at opening or late afternoon to dodge crowds and heat.

Book a timed slot online, in advance

The Acropolis sells timed-entry tickets through the official Greek state e-ticketing site, hhticket.gr, with a daily cap on visitors. In peak season (roughly June–August) and around Greek public holidays, slots can sell out five to seven days ahead, so book early and pick your time when you reserve.

A full adult ticket is about €30 and a reduced ticket about €15 as of mid-2026. Confirm the current price, your slot, and any free-admission days on the official site before you go.

There is no longer an official 'combo' ticket

The old combined multi-site ticket has been discontinued. Other central archaeological sites — the Ancient Agora, the Roman Agora and Hadrian's Library, the Temple of Olympian Zeus — now sell their own separate tickets. Third-party operators bundle multi-site or guided passes, but those are commercial products, not the official state ticket; book the official site directly when you only want admission.

Time it for early or late

Go right at opening or in the last few hours before closing. Midday in summer is the worst combination of crowds and direct sun on bare marble — there is little shade on the rock. Bring water, a hat and proper shoes, and pair the climb with the Acropolis Museum on the same day.
